JFA Update - New IJF Rules for 2013 ACT & QLD Open

Hi all ,

Upon advice from both Mr Carlo Knoester OJU Referees Chairman and Mr Neville Sharpe Australian Referees Commission Chairman the Board has agreed to delay the implementation of the new IJF refeering rules until the Nationals 2013 due to concerns about the high probability of misinterpretation.

Given there will be no induction or interpretation able to be given to the Australian Commission or referees prior to both events, and we did not want to compromise the selection process for OJU seniors, juniors, and cadets.

You will also be aware that the OJU will implement the new IJF refeering rules as their tournament is IJF sanctioned. Carlo will be running a seminar on the new rules prior to this tournament in Sydney ( details to follow) and also He has agreed to a special briefing for all Australian players at the camp prior to OJU to address any concerns athletes/ coaches may have.

The new IJF Competition rules around the increased age limits of both Cadets and Juniors will take place at the ACT and QLD Opens. Arm Locks will also be allowed for Cadet athletes.
