Australia’s top judo athletes will welcome all comers from across the Oceania region for the 2026 Oceania Judo Championships, a key event marking the return to a standalone Continental Championship for the Oceania region.
The Oceania Judo Union invites Cadets, Juniors and Senior athletes representing their member countries to Melbourne to battle for international ranking points and Continental honours over the weekend of April 18 and 19, 2026.
One of the city’s premier sporting venues – the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centres (MSAC) at Albert Park – will host top-ranked players from across the region. MSAC is just a short walk from Australia’s home of elite judo – the AusCombat National Performance Centre – which will host a week-long international training camp prior to the event (from April 13.)
This selection-only event will see Australia’s top ranked players among Cadets, Juniors and Seniors take on their rivals from New Zealand, American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Norfolk Island, Northern Marianas, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu.
Cadet and Junior competition will take place on April 18, with Seniors taking to the mat on April 19. With the Melbourne International Open taking place the weekend prior, mid-April in Melbourne will provide judo fans with a feast of judo spanning beginners and novice players, right up to our international elite.
