For three weeks every term, schools around the country lodge applications for Sporting School grants – and right now schools have the opportunity to select Judo for Term 1, 2026.
Grants for term 1 2026 are open until November 14, and for term 2, from February 16 to March 6th. Now’s the time to tell your local school to choose judo!
Judo is fun, safe and welcoming, offering students a wide range of physical literacy skills and a powerful Code for life.
It can be studied as an art, or taken to the very top level as an Olympic and Paralympic sport, welcoming enthusiasts into a global community.
Our judo coaches are the heart of Judo in Australia, and we rely on you to deliver Sporting Schools sessions around the country. You can teach the Judo4Kids curriculum, or modify to suit your particular group of budding judoka!
This is a paid opportunity, with Judo Australia invoicing schools at a set rate, and our coaches invoicing JA. (Full details.)
Coaches must have up-to-date CAF Accreditation (ideally Sensei Judo or Senior Coach), be at least 18 years old, and hold a minimum senior brown belt. You must also hold a valid professional Working With Children Check, and be a financial member of Judo Australia via our state organisations.
You must Register as a Coach in the ASC portal to deliver Judo through Sporting Schools.
If your Club boasts several accredited coaches, you can also Register as an Endorsed Provider. (Judo Australia won’t accept provider registrations unless you have already Registered a CAF-Accredited Judo Coach.)
