Essential rules update ahead of the competition season

The Referees Committee is hosting a free online webinar on February 7th to update judoka, coaches and referees on the new rules and interpretations that will be in force for the 2026 season.

This is an essential session for anyone planning to compete at the Canberra International Open in Goulburn, and the Sydney International Open, which will be the first key events impacted by these new rules.

From 8pm, Deepali Mistry, chair of Judo Australia’s Referees Committee, will lead her panel of experts in exploring the last set of rule changes from the IJF, and outline the interpretations the Oceania Judo Union has adopted to be applied in competition across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific states.

The session will close with viewer-lead discussion and clarification of specific issues, so come prepared with your questions! Download the poster below and send to everyone who needs to be there! (Scan the barcode for a direct link to the meeting, or click through.)
