Judo Australia is committed to delivering a safe and welcoming sport for children and young people.
Judo Australia’s Safeguarding Children and Young People policy sets out the expectations for everyone involved in Judo, including recruitment recommendations, response obligations and safe practices for those supporting children/young people.
Working With Children Checks
The National Integrity Framework (NIF) and specifically the Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy requires that all individuals, organisations, committees and Boards, take steps to be familiar with the relevant legislative requirements and comply with those requirements.
Are you aware of your State or Territory Working with Children Check (or equivalent) requirements? Every State and Territory in Australia has legislation in place to screen employees and volunteers who engage in child-related work.
Organisations and individuals may be liable for penalties for not fulfilling these obligations. These penalties include fines and/or imprisonment.

Engaging with children and young people
Judo Australia is committed to raising awareness and capability of our volunteers and workforce to ensure they feel comfortable in their roles and can empower the children and young people they interact with.
