New national champions (and some very familiar faces) have claimed their gold medals in the biggest weekend on Australia’s judo calendar – the 2026 Judo Australia National Championships at Carrara.

In a spectacular weekend crowned by the announcement of our Commonwealth Games team bound for Glasgow 2026, medals were presented across the full spectrum of Australian judo.

This included the Kata National Championships and Veterans National Championship on Friday,  Cadets, Juniors and Seniors on Saturday, and Senior Kyu Grades, Under 13s and Under 15s on Sunday.  Adaptive competition also took place alongside the adult divisions, but with several adaptive athletes contesting mainstream competition particularly successfully.

Also hotly contested were teams events for the Under 13s and Under 15s.
