The ability to deliver a clean, safe sport for all participants is crucially important to combat sports, and Judo Australia has appointed a new Integrity Manager to lead investigations and policy in this field. Peter Chadwick will serve as National Integrity Manager for both Judo Australia and Australian Taekwondo, our partner sport in the CombatAus high performance program.

Formerly chief steward for Harness Racing Victoria, Peter is new to combat sports and looking forward to learning the particular challenges encountered by our Judo community .
He brings extensive domestic and international experience in integrity management, investigations, regulatory compliance, governance, and safeguarding across high-performance and community sport. He has held senior integrity and stewarding roles within Australian and international sporting organisations, working closely with boards, regulators, government agencies, and law enforcement to uphold fair, safe, and ethical sporting environments.
As National Integrity Manager, Peter will focus on:
- Strengthening Judo Australia’s integrity framework to ensure compliance with national and international standards, and the National Integrity Framework (NIF)
- Leading the management and investigation of integrity-related matters in a fair, transparent, and timely manner
- Enhancing safeguarding practices to protect athletes, officials, and participants at all levels of the sport
- Delivering education and awareness programs that promote ethical behaviour, respect, and accountability
- Supporting a culture of trust, integrity, and continuous improvement across the judo community
Peter’s appointment reflects Judo Australia’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding, good governance, and the highest standards of integrity within the sport.
Judo Australia policies under the NIF span Safeguarding Children and Young People, Member Protection, Anti-Doping, Improper Use of Drugs & Medicine, Competition Manipulation and Sports Gambling, Complaints, Disputes and Discipline, and Social Media Acceptable Use.
