Director Changes

At the Judo Australia (JA) Board meeting on January 20, Director Angela Deacon resigned from the board upon her appointment to the Combat Institute of Australia Board in December 2020. JA would like to thank Angela for her service and significant contributions made to our sport.

Congratulations to new Director, Peter Trevaskis, who was appointed to the position on the JA Board.

Peter Trevaskis

Peter is a highly-experienced commercial and creative leader, with a background in domestic and international sport, agencies and journalism. He is currently working for Bastion Reputation Management as a Senior Consultant.


Over the past 15 years, Peter has worked widely across the sport sector, recently with Gymnastics Australia as General Manager Commercial and Events and held previous senior communications and marketing roles in the motorsport industry, as well as engagement with the Melbourne Commonwealth Games and Sydney Olympics.


Peter’s extensive experience will be great asset to the JA Board and the Judo in Australia community. We welcome Peter to the judo community and hope you get the opportunity to meet him soon.


The new JA Board is excited to continue building on the positive progress JA has made in recent years and further grow and develop the sport of Judo in Australia.
