Judo Australia (JA) have been in regular contact with the Australian Institute of Sport and relevant government authorities regarding the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the world.
The Australian Institute of Sport, partnering with the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia in the lead-up to the Tokyo Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, are committed to providing the National High Performance Sports System with timely, evidence-based information on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) that recognises the unique concerns and context associated with high performance sport.
JA are currently taking advice from all parties and following Government guidelines. JA sees no reason why this should disrupt any judo sessions/competitions across Australia as it stands.
This advice can be found on the webpage dedicated to COVID-19, which has been created to provide an overview of the currently available information highlighting the unique needs and challenges for sport in Australia.
The webpage will be updated with the most current information and advice relevant to sport each day and more often if required.
As always, if you feel unwell, you should not take part in ANY judo and should seek appropriate advice where necessary.
JA will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and provide updates as required.
