The 2022 Judo Australia National Championships get underway with the Kata competition.
Judoka from across the country descend upon the Gold Coast this weekend for the 2022 Judo Australia National Championships. This year marks the 70th anniversary for Judo Australia and the first time in two years that competitors from all States and Territories will be competing at the event.
Competition gets underway on Friday with the Kata event. More than 31 pairs, 62 competitors, from seven States and Territories are scheduled to compete across six divisions; Jr Nage no Kata, Nage no Kata, Katame no Kata, Kime no Kata, Ju no Kata and KDK Goshin Jutsu. Winners of each division will have an opportunity to compete at the World Kata Championships scheduled for September 12 - 14 in Krakow, Poland.
The competition is scheduled to start at 1:30pm AEST and Judo Australia will stream the event live on our Facebook page.
