News Corp Australia named as official streaming and media Partner of the 2022 National Championships



Judo Australia is excited to announce News Corp Australia as the official streaming and media partner of the 2022 Judo Australia National Championships. News Sport Network Managing Director, Michael Wilkins said: "It is a big year for the sport of judo with its inclusion in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham later this year. We have the chance to showcase many of those competing athletes on our exclusive live stream before they head off," Wilkins said.


"But this is not limited to our elite level competitors, with several future Olympians also taking to the mats. With many sporting associations already planning for Brisbane 2032, this is a chance for News to give a possible glimpse at future Australian medallists.


"The Australian Judo national championships will be one of the News Sport Livestreaming program's biggest events of the year with five mats shown concurrently across the three days of competition.


"We are excited to partner with Judo Australia to give our subscribers across the country unprecedented access to the premier event of the year."

The 2022 Judo Australia National Championships are set to get underway on Friday, June 10 with the Kata competition, followed by the Junior and Senior boys’ and girls’ competition scheduled for Saturday, June 11. Sunday, June 12 will see the Cadets, Juniors and Senior men and women in action, before the event wraps things up on Monday, June 13 with the Kyu Grade, Veterans and No Limits competitions.

The premier annual event on the Judo Australia national calendar will bring together the best judokas from across Australia who will compete to be crowned the Australian champion. This year’s event will also serve as a final tune-up for the national team participants who will be heading to Birmingham to compete in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in July.
