Judo Australia is pleased to announce Shaun Star as our newest board member. Shaun was appointed from a competitive pool of applicants based on his specialised background in sports law and governance.
As a lawyer, Shaun has more than a decade of industry experience across Australia and Asia. Having advised federations and athletes, Shaun is familiar with the unique issues that apply to sport federations, including with respect to integrity, disciplinary, governance and other transactional issues.
“We are delighted to have Shaun join our team,” said Simon Read, Board Chair of Judo Australia. “His tremendous background as a lawyer and within the sporting sector will be a valuable asset to our organisation.”
In addition, as a former member of the Oxford University Judo Club, Shaun’s experience within the sport of judo will be of further benefit to his appointment in this role.
