Attention future coaches! Nominations close Feb 2!

Nominations are closing soon for the IJF Academy’s upcoming intake of students for the Certificate as a Judo Instructor.  From 2024 this qualification becomes mandatory for all coaches looking to secure the IJF licence, required to coach at IJF events around the world.

Judo Australia must formally nominate prospective students, and those nominees will then receive an offer to study from the IJF Academy.  The offer will include instructions as to how to enrol via the IJF Academy student portal.

Maria Pekli, general manager of Performance and Pathways for Judo Australia, urges every Australian coach who plans to take players overseas to secure this important qualification.

“You must look at all the details carefully, there is a lot of work involved and it is a significant investment of time and money,” Maria said.  “There is a theoretical section, and then a practical examination later on, and we are hoping to bring the IJF Academy assessors to Australia to make it more affordable.”

To be nominated for the March intake of this important course, please contact Maria’s assistant, Jaq Nunan, (jnunan@ausjudo.com.au) immediately.  Nominations close on February 2, 2024.
