Judo Australia calls for Expressions of Interest to join the National Adaptive Judo Committee


Judo Australia has called for members to join the National Adaptive Judo Committee (7 members). No Limits Judo in Australia has been previously run by an incredibly passionate group of members who have lifted the profile of Adaptive Judo in Australia to amazing levels. We believe that with stronger support from the JA team we can lift again to new heights.

The purpose of this Committee is to assist JA in fulfilling its responsibilities relating to:


a) Development of Adaptive Judo amongst Judo Australia Members;


b) Development of Australian coaches for Adaptive Judo;


c) Assistance in the development and implementation of the JA Adaptive Judo Classification process.


d) Advisory role for JA National Titles and other relevant National Adaptive Judo Events; and


e) Assist in the development of a National Adaptive Judo Pathways Program.


f) Develop and Implement an Adaptive Judo Sporting Code (NEW) in line with global best practice.


g) Recommend to the CEO the National Teams/s for the Adapted Judo International events in line with the relevant Adaptive Judo International Event Selection Policy (to be developed).



The Committee will work to improve athletes who wish to compete, and importantly assist in broadening Australian Judo clubs offering to more people across Australia building confidence for both coaches and judoka.


JA will be working closely in 2024 with newly established partners including Sport Inclusions Australia, Special Olympics Australia, and strengthening partnerships opportunities with our global Judo Partners, Oceania Judo and IJF.


Proposed Committee composition (TBC)

The Committee will have at least one member who is qualified as an Adaptive Judo participant, Club Coaches, and Referee while other Committee Members will have appropriate Adaptive Judo literacy.



Expression of Interest will close January 31st, 2024
