JA Board Reappointments

The Judo Australia Board and Nominations Committee are eager to ensure continuity and stability of JA leadership through until the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and across the period of our 2019-2022 Strategic Plan. A key part of JA leadership is the role of Chair, which plays a significant role for the organisation including at Board level, within the Judo community and more broadly with key stakeholder groups nationally and internationally.

At the recent JA Board meeting the Nominations Committee made recommendations to the Board with respect to the Chair position. The recommendations were based on the outcomes of the review of the performance of the Chair conducted in May 2018, which surveyed both internal and external stakeholders, the needs of the organisation to deliver on its strategic plan and the need for continuity and stability of leadership.

JA is pleased to advise that the Board have reappointed Kate Corkery as Chair through until 2021, with Simon Read being appointed as Deputy Chair.

These appointments are extremely positive for JA and will ensure ongoing stability and robust, diverse and professional leadership of JA into our 2019-2022 Strategic Plan delivery, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and beyond.
