New dates have been released for the Asian Judo Open Hong Kong. Previously scheduled for August, the event will now be contested over the weekend of November 9-10 (with weigh-in taking place from November 8).
Judo Australia is currently accepting Expressions of Interest from Senior (and potentially, final year Junior) players who want to take up this self-funded opportunity.
Eligibility requirements include that the athlete:
* Be in the top three of your division on the Senior National Points Table
* Have won a medal at the 2023 National Championships and/or any of the National Event Series events
* Be at least 1st Dan, black belt, and have signed the current JA Team Member agreement.
* Possess a valid IJF card, be an Australian citizen and hold a current Australian passport
* Be a financial member (and in good standing with) Judo Australia.
Athletes selected to fight the Hong Kong Open will be supported by one of the Senior National Coaches for this event.
Please note this is a fully self-funded event, with athletes required to pay flights, accommodation and entry fees in full before departure.
