TAIPEI ASIAN OPEN & BUDO UNIVERSITY TRAINING CAMP
July 12-25, 2025
Elite-level judo athletes seeking Senior World Ranking Points and exposure to some of the region’s top talent are invited to contest the Taipei Senior Asian Open (July 12-13), followed by a ten-day training camp at Budo University in Japan.
Judo Australia is seeking Expressions of Interest for selection to this tour from senior and final year junior players who are not currently categorised or part of the National Performance Centre program.

Selected athletes will join our Senior National Team to compete in the Taipei Asian Open, assisted by a National coach who will work with athletes to maximise performance both in competition and throughout the high-level camp that follows.

To be eligible for selection, players will have achieved at least 1st Dan black belt, be in the top 3 of a division on the Senior National Points Table, and have medaled at the 2024 National Championships or a National Event Series event in 2025.
To represent Australia, players must be an Australian citizen with a current Australian passport, hold a valid IJF ID Card, and be financial member of Judo Australia/its affiliates and be in good standing with JA and the Combat Institute of Australia.
This is a self-funded event and athletes will need to book and pay for their own flights. Tournament entry and official accommodation will be booked by Judo Australia, with all costs invoiced to the athlete and payment required before departure.
